Raven's Divination Protocol Song
This is the song I wrote for the Divination Protocol. While spoken prayers are more common for this, i'm a musician so I chose to write one song that does the whole thing. I put out my cloth, sprinkle a little salt water, and sing. The song calls Mordgud as my Gate-Opener and Hela as the one I go to for aid in this work. The references to the "spirits all thirty-three strong, the windows a-crafted, the bones..." are for the Runes (I use the Futhorc), the Tarot, and the shagai.
Please keep in mind that this song is only here as an example. You'll want to create your own, with your own words, sung or spoken, and your own Gods.
My words are:
Blessed be this place like the rain coming down,
That waters the roots that lie deep in the ground.
One kiss to the dark maid a-guarding the Gate,
Open the door between Working and Fate.
My love to the Lady of Shadow and Bone,
To Sun and to Star and to Sea and to Stone.
A blessing from those who have walked here before,
The dust of their feet made the road to this door.
A blessing from those who passed on long ago,
Who gave us our flesh and our joys and our woes,
The gifts that can bind us or set us apart,
Of blood and of spirit, of mind and of heart.
Blessed be the one whose heart asks here today,
And blessed be the tools and the three times nine ways.
Blessed be the spirits all thirty-three strong,
The windows a-crafted, the bones and the Song.
May the seeing be clear, and the working be clean,
May the voices that call us all say what they mean,
May no harm come to all, and no evil befall
From the truth that burns hot as a brand,
May truth unfold under my hand.
