Heimdall's Star: Himinbjorg
Heimdall, the Guardian and Gatekeeper of Asgard, lived in a hall at the top of Bifrost the Rainbow Bridge. He is a strong warrior, the first line of defense against any attacker who would enter Asgard unwanted, and stories were told about his long, thankless hours of being the Watchman. He has a great golden horn, the Gjallarhorn, with which he will announce the onset of Ragnarok if it comes, with a giant honk. His sacred animal was the ram, and when I open my mind it was obvious where his star would be. Heimdall’s hall is Himinbjorg, and his star places that hall into the heavenly landscape.
Hamal, the star in the constellation of Aries which is right between the horns of the Ram, was where Heimdall stood forth. Aries was considered to be the Goose—also a warlike creature—in ancient Egypt, which reminds me of the Gjallarhorn. Its ancient Persian titles included Dil-Kar (Proclaimer of Dawn), Dil-Gan (Messenger of Light—Heimdall is known as the “White As” with golden teeth that flashed in the light), and Askar (guard).
Heimdall’s star of Himinbjorg bestows a warrior nature and forceful action, as well as a very independent spirit. It creates natives who are headstrong and aggressive, but often faithful and effective protectors of their communities. Himinbjorg can give the ability to be focused and direct, or irritable and frustrated, perhaps with problems dealing with authority. Loyal Heimdall can help with this problem should you have it.
